DocReclaimer
1.1 Document Data (Processed Locally)
DocReclaimer analyzes document content (PDF text, filenames, metadata) solely to generate rename suggestions. In self-hosted and desktop mode:
- All document processing occurs locally on your device.
- We do not transmit, store, or access the content of your documents.
- No document data leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable optional third-party AI features.
1.2 Usage Analytics (Aggregate Only)
When analytics are enabled, we collect anonymous aggregate data such as app launches, feature usage counts, and error codes. We do not track file names, file contents, file paths, document text, or personal identifiers through analytics events.
1.3 AI Assistant Feature (Optional, Opt-In)
If you enable AI assistant features, prompts and selected metadata summaries may be sent to the third-party model provider you configure. Third-party provider handling is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
1.4 Account Information (Hosted Mode)
- Email address for account creation and service communications.
- Payment information processed by our current checkout provider, LemonSqueezy.
- No storage of full credit card numbers by ProductivitySurge.
- Additional providers may be introduced in the future.
2. How We Use Information (DocReclaimer)
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Monitor aggregate usage patterns for roadmap prioritization.
- Communicate about account, billing, and service events.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
We do not sell personal information for marketing purposes.

Markdown AI
Markdown AI is a macOS and iPadOS markdown editor that works with documents and folders you choose. Document content is processed locally on your device unless you explicitly configure the macOS app to use a separate AI endpoint.
Local Processing
- Editing, preview rendering, file indexing, and iPad Local A.I. inference occur on your device.
- ProductivitySurge does not receive or store the contents of your markdown files.
- The iPad app uses Apple Foundation Models when available and a bundled Qwen model as its on-device fallback. Prompts, document text, responses, and conversation history are not sent to ProductivitySurge, Apple Private Cloud Compute, the model publisher, or another inference service.
- Settings, security-scoped file bookmarks, and session state are stored locally on the device. Local A.I. prompts, responses, and conversation history remain memory-only.
User-Selected Files Providers
On iPad, you may grant access to files through Apple's document picker, including iCloud Drive, On My iPad, SMB locations, or attached storage shown by the Files app. Markdown AI receives access only to the items you select. Files-provider credentials remain managed by Apple and the selected provider; ProductivitySurge does not receive them.
Optional macOS Local Agent
If you enable the macOS Local Agent, prompts derived from your current document may be sent to an AI endpoint you configure (for example Ollama or LM Studio on your network). That transmission is initiated by your machine to your chosen endpoint — not to ProductivitySurge servers.
Analytics
Markdown AI does not include third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-app tracking.
4. Data Security
We apply reasonable safeguards including authentication, rate limiting, CORS restrictions, and input validation. No internet transmission method is completely secure.
5. Your Rights
- Opt out of analytics via settings or DOCR_ANALYTICS=0.
- Delete local AI chat history.
- Remove AI API keys and disable AI features.
- Request account deletion by emailing support@productivitysurge.com.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by anyone under age 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
